I appreciate the kindness during my short stay in the Step Down Unit. I was eager to be released from the hospital and was not looking forward to any more medical procedures. Blanca was very compassionate and, as busy as she was, she took the time to explain to me the exit protocol to be released from the hospital. She assured me that she would do everything she could to speed up the process. I needed to have a final blood draw and, as I have a fear of needles and had already had my share of IV's and blood work, she did her best to try to draw the blood from my IV tube so I would not have another needle inserted in me.
When I said I wanted to take a final walk around the hall, she accompanied my son and me as she said that hospital regulations require a nurse to walk with the patient. She also made sure my son and I had lunch before I was released from the hospital. She did all this for me during a time span of only three hours. Thank you, Blanca, for your professionalism and gentleness. You are an awesome nurse!
