Blythe was immediately friendly and easy to talk to. I had twin babies in the NICU, and she was the most understanding and patient of the nurses caring for me during my stay. She asked me questions about myself in a way that made it feel like she was genuinely interested in me as a person, not just a patient. I told her that I had continued to breastfeed my toddler during my pregnancy, and she later remembered this and told me she thought this extended breastfeeding was wonderful. She was so easy to talk to and always took time to talk with me. She was happy to make sure my care was handled around me trying to see my babies in the NICU. When I saw her name on my whiteboard for the second day in a row, I genuinely breathed a sigh of relief knowing that I would see a familiar and kind face during such a difficult time. She was the person I most felt I could show my genuine emotions to, and she waited and actively listened while I talked and cried about how difficult I was finding having twins in the NICU to be. She showed genuine concern for the disappointment I mentioned I had with the NICU staff not waiting for me to do bottle feeds of my babies and told me if I wasn't happy with some part of my babies' care, she needed to know so she could help address it. I see this as above and beyond her role as my nurse in mom and baby, showing a genuine interest in ensuring my family and I have the best experience as patients. Before I left, she came and answered all my questions, anticipating some before I asked them, and thanked me for telling her about some of my interests, remembering the specific things I had told her about. Every part of the care I received from Blythe showed compassion and genuine care for her patients, which really meant a lot to me.

Thank you, Blythe A, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
