Bobbi was this patient's labor nurse and the patient had really bonded with Bobbi, so much so that when the shift was over Bobbi could sense that patient's growing anxiety and promised to stay on her own personal time to help deliver the patient's baby. The extra four and a half hours that Bobbi stayed with the patient really helped the patient mentally and emotionally. On top of all this Bobbi herself had just returned from a lumpectomy and it was her first day back! But she put aside her own personal anxiety and discomfort to care for her patient who needed her.
Now that's extraordinary nursing!
