I enthusiastically nominate Bobbi Myhre for the Daisy Award! I am Bobbi's immediate supervisor in the Sanford Southpointe OB/GYN Women's Clinic, and I get to see her "in action" every day. Bobbi has been an LPN with Sanford for 20 years this coming January, and she brings a broad knowledge base and skill set with her, but as she frequently says, "I learn something new every single day!" Bobbi serves as a formal preceptor to nearly every new LPN hired into our department. She has infinite patience with new nurses and makes their orientation enjoyable and valuable. She encourages them every day and helps them not only learn their role, but makes them feel like a part of the "family" here at South Pointe. She is equally welcoming to nursing students and med students, graciously sharing her knowledge and always taking time for their questions. In addition to being a formal preceptor, Bobbi does many other things for our unit that is really "above and beyond". She is responsible for ordering and tracking meds, and she serves on the EPIC Superuser Committee. She willingly floats to our sister clinics (Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Medicine) when they have staffing needs, and functions like an old pro in these settings as well! I have seen her take time to contact insurance companies on behalf of patients to help them understand what their coverage will be for certain procedures. Besides her exemplary nursing skills, she also has wonderful "people skills". I have the privilege of reading Press Ganey comments from our patients and Bobbi is frequently recognized by name. Some recent statements include, "Bobbi was amazing! She always remembers me from previous visits and makes me feel special, not like a number." "Bobbi is an efficient nurse, but she never seems rushed. She takes the time to make me feel comfortable and get all my questions answered. I trust her implicitly." Bobbi brings an amazing attitude with her to work every day. She quietly goes above and beyond, exceeding all expectations and constantly doing "extras", always with a smile. She is most deserving of the Daisy Nurse Award recognition and I am so very proud to nominate her!

Bobbi has deserved the recognition of this award for a long time. She came to me wanting to work in Women's health many years ago. From her first day of hire, she has demonstrated the commitment and desire to affect the health and wellbeing of our patients. She is a very empathetic person and she shares her compassion for every patient she encounters. I particularly watch her as she assists patients that are experiencing a miscarriage or pregnancy loss. Her soft nature and healing touch is a blessing to our patients. She works cooperatively with the physicians to make a plan of care that includes emotional support and healing. She never appears rushed, even though she has many responsibilities. Bobbi initially did not feel she had the tools to assist in training other staff. Over the years of growth, she has become one of our best preceptors. She guides with kindness and acceptance. She has the knowledge to teach and lead new staff to fully understand the scope of the LPN and the collaboration with the other nursing staff. Bobbi has volunteered to cross train to many other clinical areas that need assistance. She floats to Reproductive medicine, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Internal Medicine because there is a need and she is not afraid to "learn". The nurses and managers of these sites ask to "keep" her which is an incredible compliment, making her an extraordinary nurse. Bobbi speaks up and shares her concerns about quality care when she identifies any gaps. This is appreciated by management as she is open and honest, and extremely trustworthy. There have been times, due to personal circumstances that working at another facility or department might have been easier for her, but she has maintained the "love" of her patients and co-workers and has continued in OBGYN. I am grateful and blessed to have her on my team.
