A characteristic of a good nurse is one that shows empathy to each patient, making a true effort to put themselves in their patient's shoes. Nurse Bobbi does exactly that. The ICU is undoubtedly the most challenging floor to work on, and it takes a dedicated and passionate person to do the job and do it as selflessly as Nurse Bobbi.

I met her when I was brought in for a procedure to remove a blood clot that nearly took my life. Unable to do anything for myself, embarrassed and alone with absolutely no family around, nurse Bobbi was there. She showed up as a friend, a professional, and a sister. I felt seen, heard, and understood.

It takes a special person to wholeheartedly embrace a complete stranger and literally hold her hand through the most difficult time of her life. She is empathetic, treats her patients as people, and focuses on a person-centered approach rather than strictly following routine guidelines. She thoroughly explains all questions without judgment and rushes to help her colleagues on the unit without hesitation. I will be discharged soon, and the goal is to never return to the ICU again, but I pray every floor has a “nurse Bobbi” and that every patient gets to experience the magic that is Bobbi Stewart.

Thank you, Bobbi, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
