Bodie Jenkins is the nurse manager of ASOU, Pre-admit, Pre-Endoscopy. As a pivotal person at the GCVHCS Outpatient units, Bodie illustrates his leadership with significant positive relationships, open-mindedness, and critical thinking confidence which creates a positive practice environment that is conducive to influence job satisfaction, retention, and sustainability of staff RN's, and to organizational culture and outcomes for patients and staff. Bodie Jenkins' character is of a very effective nurse manager which is manifested in mentoring roles to new, young and "older" nurses. He offers praises for jobs well done, he offers suggestions and advisement for improving quality care and interactions with Veterans their families and other team members which promotes clinical teamwork. Bodie's effective communication and collaboration skills are vital to reduce stress, provides no conflicts unresolved, and creates a lighter atmosphere with humor and humility. This reduces intimidation and defensiveness with other healthcare professionals, veterans and family members. As an employee and working under Bodie's leadership, the staff in ASOU is honored and privileged to have him as their leader. He exemplifies everything a DAISY recipient should.
