I am submitting this on behalf of my mother K. K passed away from her battle with cancer but had this paper filled out and I felt she wanted you to know about the nurse that meant the most to her.
In my mother's words:
"I was admitted to the ER. Had to have surgery the next day and stayed for 10 days. Bonni went above and beyond during my stay. She was very helpful to me and all my family members. She was very knowledgeable and gave us all excellent care, whether she was my nurse or the manager.
Bonni kept my family updated and assisted my elderly mother until other family came so she wasn't alone. She ensured my pain was controlled and kept my dressing changed if other nurses were busy. She gave me excellent care, especially with my prognosis being so poor. When my special needs son came to visit, she went above and beyond with his needs too. This was the best treatment ever to have at Chambersburg hospital. Thank you, Bonni! You got us through a very difficult time!"
I apologize for the delayed nomination, but my mother would have wanted everyone to know when a nurse did a fantastic job especially since she was a nurse for 18 years and loved it.
Please let Bonni know that me (her daughter) and my whole family are grateful for all her help to extend my mom's life just a little bit longer. We couldn't have asked for a better angel, as my mom had said.
