Bonnie Alvarado, RN

After a tough night with our 4-year-old son, who had just had a large brain tumor removed, Bonnie set up a cluster care plan for him. He had not slept much the night before due to interventions that needed to happen, and Bonnie could see that he needed more rest. She used her knowledge and expertise to put into motion a plan where all the people who needed to see him would come within a window and then give him a break so he could sleep. Combined with that, she greatly aided in his recovery by using techniques while he slept, such as lying on his side, that would help to expand his collapsing lung, and it kept him from being intubated. Without all of her wonderful nursing capabilities, our son may not have recovered as quickly. We are so grateful to Bonnie and the compassion she showed our son through diligent & professional work.
