I have the privilege of being an employee of the CVIU who also recently spent several days as a patient on this unit. Bonnie was the night RN for the nights I spent on the unit. She provided me with professional, skilled, and compassionate care. As a nurse, I know the possibilities and the things that can go wrong, but Bonnie was a calming influence during a trying and complicated time. She was discreet and shielded me from other staff. She advocated on my behalf with the medical providers. She made my family feel welcome and explained my status and condition to them. (My two hour procedure ended up being 8 hours and they were worried). Despite being short staffed and having received/admitted another patient (which I found out much later), I was made to feel like her only patient. I was greatly blessed by Bonnie and thank her for her excellent care of me.
