April 2011 Honoree
bonnie colby, RN
Bonnie cared for a difficult long term antepartum patient. The patient was demanding, rude, unappreciative and manipulative. She “fired” many of the nurses who cared for her. After months of being in the hospital she was schedule for a c-section , the patient and her husband requested Bonnie as their nurse during the surgery and for her post op care. The patient was a physical and mental drain, yet Bonnie continued to have a smile and provide exceptional care. Bonnie’s attitude was such an example for all of us, I know she get her inner strength from God and His Light certainly shines through in Bonnie. I hope we can all continue to learn from Bonnie as she is a true role model for all of us.
Thank you, Bonnie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
