I had a routine exam for a colonoscopy. I left with no issues, only to have everything go wrong the next day. I started to bleed, not a little but in large amounts. We checked into the Emergency Room as directed by the on-call doctor. The hospital was full, but they eventually found a bed in the Telemetry Unit. This was all hazy as I was losing blood so fast, I only have a partial memory of my transition. I was lucky to have Bonnie Le as my nurse. She was very caring and had empathy and understood how scary our situation was. The doctor showed up late around 11 p.m. and Bonnie was there listening and ready to act on the decisions made. Bonnie always volunteered her help and was proactive to do things that were far from pleasant. I was sad Bonnie floated on my second night. Bonnie is an outstanding caregiver and a compassionate nurse.
