Bonnie is known for her compassionate care of patients, a mentor, and role model for clinical nurses throughout Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals Inc. She approaches each day with a positive attitude. Her compassionate demeanor and love of her profession are evident at the start of each day.

During the past 3 years as clinical educator on our unit, Bonnie has promoted the value of success pays eliciting over 25% of nurses on the unit to successfully become certified in their specialty. She consistently promotes the Magnet component of exemplary professional practice by enlisting nurses on her unit council to start research projects based on evidence-based practice. She exhibits exemplary professional practice by setting examples to staff of the standards of care and performing them herself. Bonnie not only educated staff on CHG bathing when it was a new practice but was often found bathing the patients with the wipes to foster the practice change.

Bonnie's advanced clinical skills are evident daily on our unit. She mentors both novice and seasoned nurses on our extremely challenging med-tele unit. Bonnie works with staff to assure their competence and comfort in many clinical issues. While doing this, she demonstrates compassionate care with each patient she encounters. She is consistently at the bedside assisting staff with daily care checking skin, IVs, and urinary catheters and ambulation goals. She puts people first and anticipates the needs of our staff and patients to promote a positive experience while demonstrating respect and empathy in her care of patients.
