I have worked with Brad as the Emergency Center Manager as well as Director. His dedication to his job is second to none. He is a transformational leader who is a role model for his staff. Brad motivates staff to be involved at Beaumont beyond their bedside roles. I have witnessed him work with individual staff members on their own professional development. He has driven several EC and hospital-wide initiatives to improve patient care and job satisfaction for employees. Brad has developed EC UPC subcommittees which focus on different areas of practice in the EC such as quality, Magnet, and community outreach. These subcommittees allow staff to be involved with process and practice change which enhances their own nursing practice.
Brad has also participated in several initiatives to support the Beaumont - Troy community. The most memorable is bringing Chuck E Cheese to see a pediatric patient who had been treated in the EC. Brad is someone who makes you think he must have more hours in the day than anyone else because of all he is able to accomplish. Whether he is working all hours of the day or on the unit answering call lights and assisting with patients, his hard work does not go unnoticed by staff. I have learned so much from him and about the leader I would like to be and I feel lucky to work with him.
