Braden Hart, BSN, RN
Braden is such a wonderful nurse, and as his last name says, he is full of "Hart"! There was a patient in the ICU who had no friends or family, was homeless, and dying. Braden sought out every opportunity to comfort this gentleman.
He spent time holding his hand, talking him through his fears, getting him the chaplain he requested, and advocating for meds to keep him comfortable.
After Braden transferred his other patient out of the ICU, he moved a computer into this patient’s room to sit with him and hold his hand as he was dying so he would not have to be alone. This gentleman kept saying how he was so grateful for the care he was receiving and kept asking for Braden to stay with him.
It is in these tiny, quiet moments that nurses can make the biggest impact. Braden made a lasting impression with this patient. He is a blessing to the ICU and his patients.
