Brad is a model preceptor- he truly embodies all the desirable traits of a leader and teacher.
Despite having a very difficult last month, Brad continues to shine, not only as an RN but a relief charge RN and a phenomenal preceptor. Brad has faced many professional challenges over the last month regarding critically ill patients and difficult outcomes. Despite this, Brad always has a smile on his face. He remains cheerful, a bright spot on the unit, and is ready to help. He is an excellent patient advocate and truly cares for them. Brad is a model preceptor- he truly embodies all the desirable traits of a leader and teacher. He is kind, and patient, develops a rapport with his preceptees, creates a safe place for them to land, and empowers them to grow and be the best they can be. We appreciate all the wisdom and insight Brad is able to provide on capstone students, externs, and new graduate RNs.
***
Brad has been recognized multiple times for his ability to train and support new nurses. His most recent preceptee remarked how Brad was willing to share his past mistakes which made the student feel like he was "not so dumb" and it greatly increased his confidence.

Brad is hands down one of the best preceptors I've seen. He's always coming up with new ways to challenge his students, get them opportunities, and modify his teaching styles to fit his patient. He went above and beyond to make time and just sit with a COVID patient and let them vent all their concerns to him. He cares deeply and even after a rough code is back at his desk the very next shift with his usual smiling demeanor and easy laugh, brightening everyone's days. We are blessed as a unit and hospital to have him here.
