"I have to tell you, I have never had a nurse like her," said the patient who nominated Brady Ressel. The patient noted the meticulous care Ressel took with medication reconciliation, education, and adjustments, and shared that no one else during multiple previous admissions to other hospitals had done that. Ressel also took note of the patient's special dietary needs and made sure every meal was prepared "just right."
"Brady was born for this. Even when the lights were off in the morning, she would come in and light up the room with her presence. She didn't just listen to me; she heard me. Just her kindness made my day."
A retired 40-year nurse herself, the patient recalled staying late one shift to give a patient a back rub and the patient crying with gratitude for that kindness. "Now, so many years later, Brady is to me the nurse I was to that patient. I felt like I was her only patient. She is a true Nightingale."
