Close to a shift change, I had a patient's heart rate dropping, so I received an order for external pacing and transfer to stepdown. Being on the ortho floor, I had never had to do this before, so I called for help. Instead of trying to explain over the phone, Brandi came down to assist me and stayed with us until the patient was stable and able to transfer. She shared her skills and knowledge. It was a great learning experience for me, and I appreciate her help. Her actions showed compassion for a person in need, both me and my patient. She showed great teamwork.
