When Cone Health hired Brandi McMillion you hired an angel on earth. We met Brandi when our mother was placed in ICU at AP from her ED admit. To say that Brandi took excellent care of our mother is, to say the least. She bathed her and even got her to sit up in the ICU. Our mom was talking and seemed like herself. Brandi was so caring! Always taking time to explain and answer all of our questions. You can tell she did everything with true compassion and love. Once our mom was ready, she was moved to the 3rd floor. We went to the director and explained our concerns. She was super understanding of our situation, we didn't feel like just another patient. We were blessed to see that Brandi followed her to the floor. We learned about how Brandi got into nursing. She was her mother's caregiver 24/7 since she was 18 until 5 years ago when she passed away. I think that is why she is such a wonderful caregiver. Some people have a calling and we believe Brandi is where she was meant to be. Brandi had such a sweet demeanor. She was very patient and respectful. She was able to bond with our mom like no other nurse. She took time to listen to our request and went through all of the levels from blood draws. She knew and understood our concerns. She never acted like it was an inconvenience to talk or answer our questions. Our mom received a bath before discharge and was able to receive comfort measures to help with the transition to Rockingham County Hospice. Our mother passed at hospice. Words cannot express our gratitude for having Brandi play such an important role in our mother's last days.
