While out of the building with limited resources, Brandi took care of the patient with safety as a top priority and the compassion of a nurse all while in the transport van.
Brandi has only been at RJ for a short time but has quickly made a positive impression on everyone she works with - always willing to jump in on the units when needed. This was seen especially during the COVID pandemic. When COVID hit and the referring hospitals started to cancel appointments, Brandi immediately reached out to nursing leaders to see where she could help the kids the most when transport saw their daily transport workflow almost come to a halt. She was willing to work the floor - on either unit or just jump in wherever there was a need. Fast forward several months later when illness hit the transport team and Brandi was the only RN left, she immediately reached out to the managers to see what she could do to help manage the appointment needs of the kids for the following 2 weeks until her team was able to be back at work. She is super professional and timely in her communications across all departments: med team, social work, nursing, RT, to ensure that the kids who needed to get to appointments the most were accommodated and then juggled the remaining rescheduling that needed to be done seamlessly. I appreciate her dedication to the kids, her co-workers, and how amazingly she did step up to take charge during a tough period.

Brandi is an exceptional nurse. Brandi brings a smile to work every day. Although Brandi does not work directly at the bedside she is often seen spending her downtime with patients and frequently asks bedside staff if they need any help. She is quick to jump in when she sees co-workers in need of a helping hand. One day while out on a transport, Brandi was a listening ear to a parent who had questions about her grandson's care at Ranken. She took the time to support the patient's Grandmother and followed up with details to nursing leadership. Another time on a transport a patient had a change in status after a procedure and needed extra support. While out of the building with limited resources, Brandi took care of the patient with safety as a top priority and the compassion of a nurse all while in the transport van. Brandi used exceptional nursing judgment and was able to safely get the patient to the ED.
Brandi is dependable and flexible for her department, nursing, and Ranken. She is often seen coming and going from Ranken at all hours of the day with a smile and positive attitude. Brandi has stepped up and held down her department during COVID. She came through in a time of need with a great mindset and demonstration of TEAMWORK.
