Brandi is a nurse who consistently demonstrates that she is a team player and that she is willing to go above and beyond to facilitate quality care both to her unit and other units as well.
During both the months of September and October, Brandi graciously assisted me with staffing problems when urgent situations arose. The first situation occurred when an urgent situation arose in PACU. Assistance was needed to help transport a patient to CT. The nursing supervisor was called and was in the middle of a situation and could not respond immediately. At the time, calls were made around to several units, and it was requested that someone go to PACU and help with an urgent transfer. Every charge nurse I spoke to stated that they were unable to send someone. When I called Brandi, she immediately sent someone to assist.
[A few days later,] during the night, the status of a patient in house changed and the patient required a sitter. The unit that the patient was on did not have anyone to sit with the patient. As soon as I called Brandi, she sent her PCA to sit with the patient, even though this left them short-staffed without a PCA.
It is always a pleasure to work with Brandi. She is an excellent leader and resource to the staff on M4. She is always caring for patients and a great advocate for the patients and staff on M4. Brandi is a true DAISY Nurse.
