My husband is currently having treatment for his 3rd cancer and during this time he is having chemo and has to have a bone marrow transplant. It has been very hard on us both and this time his immune system is very low, and he became septic following chemo. He was also dehydrated and very sick. He had to be admitted into the hospital since this is his 3rd cancer. We are really used to being in the hospital although a lot of the nurses and staff were nice to us one nurse was exceptional.
Brandi Wilson. She always made him feel like he was important; sometimes when you are in the hospital a lot of times it feels like you should know what to expect and this time he had never been septic. She took the time to explain everything about his treatment to both of us. She always tried to bring his meds on time so he would be more comfortable. She tried to do everything she could to make it easier for him to understand if things were changed or new tests to be done. She was nice, polite, professional, and compassionate.
I know they probably are used to people dying and being very sick on that floor, but she tried to keep our spirits up. I know Brandi was just doing her job, but we appreciated being seen as still living even with a death sentence looming. Thank you to all the nurses, staff, and doctors who took care of him.
