We are so lucky to have such an amazing leader at our school. I will never forget what she did for me. I was at a point in my nursing school where I was ready to give up. I had failed a course and was beginning to think nursing was not meant for me. I was contacted by Dr. Richards as one of my professors had shared with her my desire to quit nursing. Dr. Richards called me and immediately had me come to the vaccine clinic; she sat down with me and we talked about my life. She told me that God had a plan for me. She said for me to not make a decision to drop out of school. She helped me finish my last clinical day with med surg and then made it possible for me to go on a mission trip to Mexico. On that mission trip, I was able to see that I wanted to help others and nursing was exactly where I was supposed to be. I am almost done with school and I know without a doubt this would not have been possible if she did not connect with me and then have me experience firsthand the beauty of helping others
