He is an example of teamwork and provides assistance without ever being asked, almost as if it’s a personal responsibility.
This extraordinary ICU nurse is one of our lead preceptors on nights and is beloved by the staff. He passionately teaches with genuine excitement. If there is an emergency, you want Brandon there by your side. His knowledge base and diverse experience are irreplaceable. In this one incident, I specifically recall, one of the patients had fallen while trying to get to the bathroom. He was laying on the bathroom floor, in both blood and feces, holding c-spine without thinking twice, because it needed to be done. He is an example of teamwork and provides assistance without ever being asked, almost as if it’s a personal responsibility. He has even been nicknamed the Moral Ambassador by some of the staff. He randomly brings sweets and treats for everyone to enjoy; he’s had meals catered for the staff to enjoy on multiple occasions and brought little trinkets to unify the staff. He cares so much about the patients and his co-workers, it’s not enough to just say “thank you.” We want him, collectively, to feel appreciated. Thank you so much Brandon for all that you do and all that stand for.
