My husband checked into Harborview Hospital for repair of a thoracic aorta dissection. He suffered a spinal cord injury. After we left the ICU we were transferred to the Trauma Rehabilitation Unit. During this very difficult and highly stressful time we were assigned Brandon Ibarra as the main nurse in charge of my husband's care. It was soon evident to all our family that Brandon was an extremely efficient, knowledgeable and caring professional, often taking our concerns and getting answers for us. He was always ready with encouraging and hopeful possibilities, never doing just the required, but always above and beyond. Brandon enabled us to make it through the greatest difficulty of our lives. We will always be grateful for his great compassion and skill. As he took over my training as the caregiver for when we would go home, he was extremely patient. Even when I had "10 thumbs", he was quick to encourage me and offer words of hope. We are so thankful for his support and care.

Thank you, Brandon, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
