I believe Brandy Guin has exhibited above and beyond care to a patient during her shift in the Endoscopy department. Brandy took it upon herself to go upstairs to bring an inpatient downstairs for an endoscopy procedure. After meeting the patient, she discovered that the patient’s daughter is currently admitted to our ICU and that the patient was very worried about her daughter. Brandy took it upon herself to take the patient to the ICU to visit with the patient’s daughter since the patient hadn’t seen her daughter.

I believe this act has the ability to greatly impact both the patient and the patient’s daughter's health and stay here at the hospital. I believe that this helped give the patient some peace before coming to our department for their procedure. Brandy's actions have shown that she truly sees the bigger picture and has the desire to make a meaningful impact on our patients’ lives. This action not only helped our endoscopy patient, who was deeply worried about their child, but also helped the patient’s daughter, who also greatly benefited from seeing their mother. I truly believe there is a reason she was the one who went upstairs to help bring the patient down to endoscopy.
