I am only 20 years old and did not have much of an understanding of how to swaddle a baby or how to properly settle them and Nurse Brandy took an entire hour to show me how to wrap him to where he is comfortable, helped assist me settling him with showing how to safely burp the baby due to him having some tummy gas pain from drinking his formula too fast (which she helped me get due to expressing how stressed I was with breastfeeding), along with calming him down and getting him to sleep due to myself being frustrated and exhausted for the past few days due to his delivery. She made sure I was taken care of and constantly checked to see if I needed help or if there was anything she could teach me. She made such a scary experience so warm and inviting, and I can never repay her for how much she truly helped me. I actually cried when I realized how much I preferred her over all my other nurses because I knew her shift was ending, and I didn’t have that connection with any other nurses!
