Brandy seemed to be the most knowledgeable of all my nurses, although they were all very good. On my second day in the hospital, Brandy noticed my infection had changed. She consulted with my doctor, and he came by to check on me. Brandy told him that she thought I had developed abscesses and the doctor concurred. They scheduled the surgery, and the doctor removed the abscesses. If Brandy had not recognized the seriousness of my condition, I would have likely lost my left leg, 2 inches below my groin.
