Brea was nominated by her instructor, Theresa Cartier, for quick action and for advocating for her patient during a critical change in his clinical status. She assessed for changes confidently, while calming and reassuring her patient. Brea loves the fact that being in nursing school affords opportunities to learn something new every single day. She was honored to receive the DAISY in Training Award and feels that being recognized by others helps build the confidence she will need to be the best nurse that she can be. Aside from being enrolled as a full time student, Brea works as a patient care technician at UPMC Shadyside. In her spare time she enjoys working out, running, golfing, kayaking and traveling. Brea is well liked and respected by both her peers and faculty at the school.
