Bre not only gave him the best care but also made sure every single one of my family members there (which was a lot) was doing ok.
Bre has been my grandpa's nurse for several days during his stay in the ICU over this past week. My family and I truly could not ask for anyone better to take care of our husband/dad/grandpa. Bre is able to answer any and all of our questions we have regarding his care. When my grandpa was admitted to the ICU, he was not in good shape, and everyone was unsure of what the road ahead would look like. Bre not only gave him the best care but also made sure every single one of my family members there (which was a lot) was doing ok. Always asking if we needed anything, if we had any questions, or simply how we were doing.
When my grandpa was on the mend, she was so excited to see how well he was doing! She loved to celebrate the small wins with my family. My grandpa had a slight decline the other day while Bre was working, and she was up in action right away. Calling for the hospitalist, ordering labs, keeping a close eye on his vitals, and while doing all of this, she kept my family in the know of what was going on and what our next steps would be. Most importantly, she will be the first person to advocate for her patients.
Bre treats her patients like they are her own family. She is kind and compassionate and carries herself with such grace. She currently has a nursing intern with her, A, who is also a great addition to her work. In the midst of the chaos that comes with working in the ICU, you can tell Bre still takes time to make everything a teaching moment so her students are able to learn and experience everything before they head off on their own. She has made our journey in the ICU the best that it can possibly be. We are so thankful for all of her hard work and long hours she has spent with our entire family!
