The 3 Breast Care Nurses who have been outstanding, supportive, reassuring, caring and also went the extra mile and continue to support met are Kath Phelan, Sharon Ireson, and Lauren Schofield. Even though the nurses have a professional role to complete I feel that they should be recognised for the high standards that they have provided to me and my family through the difficult time of making the decision to have a double mastectomy.

Kath spent time with me and never once made me feel like I could not ask any questions or rush in order to meet other patients - that in itself made me feel validated, supported, and that I could speak to her about my worries.

Sharon made me feel relaxed and reassured and the support again was outstanding.

Sharon has been there for me every little step and has also given me extra support every time I have needed it. She shows me compassion and comfort when I attend. I am a nurse myself and I am in awe of Sharon. I feel she is a true inspiration and the absolute gold standard of what a nurse should be and more. The whole team reflects her ethos and I cannot show my appreciation enough.
