This was my first time being in the hospital for myself, under unfortunate circumstances. Mentally, I am grieving the loss of a child, but also having to go through an invasive procedure to heal. Feeling vulnerable in my emotional, mental, and physical state and out of my comfort zone, my medical-surgical team and nurses were outstanding. They went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable, heard, and safe. My PACU nurse Bree was a God sent angel. She connected with me on a personal level and helped me heal emotionally and spiritually, in addition to taking excellent care of my physical well-being.

She has such a kind spirit and a true inspiration of what a nurse should be. I felt so at peace talking to her and felt so grateful to have her as my nurse in recovery. She prioritized my health, holistically. I was discharged home that night, knowing that I received phenomenal care from everyone who took care of me. The whole experience was a bit overwhelming and traumatic for me going into it, but the nurses and care team made it a positive memory that has helped me heal and cope with my loss. Thank you!
