Brenda Atterholt was nominated by a patient, who said:

"Brenda was always there to care, listen to my concerns and give me a hug when I needed it. Her expert knowledge in her field answered all my questions clearly. Even when she was not my nurse, she was there. She goes above and beyond."

Atterholt's manager, Barbara Schmidt, agreed, saying: "Brenda is one of our newer nurses, but she has a maturity and compassion that reaches out to patients. She is regularly mentioned during rounds as one of the nurses who stands out and makes patients' stay special."
