My daughter and I came to the hospital for my granddaughter to have an MRI. When Brenda tried to start the IV, my granddaughter began to cry and shake. She left us alone for a while so that my granddaughter could calm down. When she returned, she had an "I SPY" book for my daughter to read aloud. She was so gentle and spoke softly during the procedure. My granddaughter loved that she wrapped her IV in pink gauze with white hearts on it. When it was time for the procedure, her mother and I were both allowed to go. My granddaughter was allowed to take her pink blanket with her and when the procedure was over, the blanket was folded neatly under her arm. Brenda told us how long it would take for the anesthesia to wear off and like clockwork, it did. Then she returned with a stuffed teddy bear and the "I SPY" book and she let my granddaughter keep them both. With all of the confusion that day, I did not get to tell this nurse that she was the best. My granddaughter was happy when she got home, a testament to Brenda's care.
