Brenda began her nursing career as a Nurse Resident on D7 about a year ago. We have watched her blossom and bloom into the very epitome of what makes an exceptional nurse. She is highly skilled and compassionate. She is knowledgeable and kind-hearted. She is patient and professional. She is empathetic and ethical. She always has a smile and makes herself available to check in on her coworkers and lend a hand when needed. Her patients adore her and continuously compliment her care.

One example of how Brenda jumps right in to assist her co-workers and ensure patient safety is when I received a new admission and this patient began actively seizing. Brenda saw that I needed assistance and quickly gathered the supplies we needed and helped me provide excellent care to this patient. She also helped with the seizure activity documentation. Even though she had a full and difficult assignment of her own, she never hesitated to assist me. She is the perfect representation of teamwork and D7 is incredibly lucky to have her as a staff member.

Another example is her rapid response to a small fire in a patient room last year. Brenda immediately helped lift and carry the patient to safety. Brenda is the exact type of nurse that you want working beside you as well as the kind of nurse you would hope for if you or your loved ones were in a patient in the hospital.
