If not for Brenda, we might not have had the time we had with him or the discussions to forgive each other.
Our father was recently admitted for a GI bleed. While in the ICU under Brenda's care, he coded and was resuscitated. He went to the cath lab, and he had triple vessel disease. It was decided for him to transfer to Evansville. While there, they did a colonoscopy without anesthesia, and he was diagnosed with colon cancer. With the cancer and triple vessel disease, he was deemed hospice appropriate, and he passed within 2 weeks.
After the code, Dad joked around with Brenda, and she joked right back and just took her time with all aspects of his care. We talked with Brenda about his physical health as well as his spiritual health. She helped start the communications that helped heal all of our wounds and accept that the Lord had plans for Dad. If not for Brenda, we might not have had the time we had with him or the discussions to forgive each other. We were all impressed with Brenda and feel that she is deserving of this award. Thank you.
