Brenda Krause, MSN, FNP
From the very beginning of nursing school, Professor Krause stood out not only as an exceptional educator but also as a wholehearted source of encouragement and inspiration.
She has a unique ability to see potential in her students before they see it in themselves, and she uses that insight to help us grow into confident, capable nurses and leaders. In my first semester, I joined the Student Nurses Association (SNA), which she led. Through her guidance, I quickly learned the value of involvement, advocacy, and professional development in nursing.
She fostered an environment where every student’s voice mattered and where leadership was encouraged, not feared. Her belief in me gave me the confidence to take on new challenges, ultimately helping me earn a board position on the Texas Nursing Students’ Association (TNSA). Professor Krause doesn’t just teach from the textbook; she teaches from the heart.
Her passion for nursing education and commitment to student success have shaped me and so many others into future nurses who lead with compassion, confidence, and integrity. She truly embodies the spirit of the DAISY award through her excellence, mentorship, and dedication to the next generation of nurses.
