Brenda not only exemplifies the mission of BMCE, she lives it out. I knew my sister would be well cared for when I heard Brenda say the words, "we are going to do it right the first time." My anxiety and fear over the unknown and unanswered health crisis my loved one was facing was greatly diminished just by her attitude alone. Brenda instilled feelings of hope when I was weak. Her compassionate care filled the gap and her unique ability to display to our family that as a nurse she absolutely is the hands and feet of Christ, not only provided excellent care to my sister but our whole family as well. She has an ability to convey knowledge, even when it's not favorable. The professionalism she displays is contagious in peer perceptions that were mimicked in her absence. Her presence sets the tone in ICU and in the heart and mind of our family. Her assessment skills and ability to sense pain or comfort is one to be commended. Her duties were never defined as a task list, her behavior clearly providing holistic care.

If pursuing perfection is something Baptist Health Care is trying to obtain, congratulations because you have met your goal by having Brenda Pernell as a Registered Nurse in ICU. I hope and pray I pay it forward and continue the ripple that your organization has created in my soul.
