Brenda Rothstein, RN
I would like to nominate Brenda for a DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional compassion, dedication, and professionalism she brings to nursing every single day. Brenda consistently demonstrates what it means to be a truly patient-centered nurse. She approaches each patient with genuine compassion and patience, taking the time to listen carefully to their concerns and understand their needs. Her patients feel heard, respected, and cared for because she never rushes through interactions; she ensures that every human she cares for knows they matter.
What sets Brenda apart is her unwavering dedication to advocating for her patients. When she identifies a concern, she is not afraid to escalate it appropriately to ensure it is addressed and that the patient receives the safest and highest quality care possible. Her thoroughness and attention to detail reflect her deep commitment to doing what is right for those entrusted to her care.
Brenda is also an incredible teammate and leader. She fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and welcome. She is a natural peacemaker who helps maintain a positive and collaborative atmosphere on the unit. No matter how busy the shift becomes, Brenda is often the first to step in to help and the last to step away when someone needs support.
For many of us younger nurses, Brenda is a true inspiration. She leads not through authority but through example, demonstrating her kindness, resilience, and professionalism in even the most challenging situations. She embodies the kind of nurse we all strive to become.
Yes, Brenda gets stressed, but even when she is stressed, she is a role model. Most importantly, Brenda provides the kind of care that every person hopes their loved one would receive in a hospital: compassionate, attentive, and deeply human. Her dedication to her patients and her team makes a lasting difference every day. For all of these reasons, I am proud to nominate Brenda for the DAISY Award.
