If something seemed amiss in my wife’s condition, Brenda was quick to alert the hospitalist and we suspect she was persistent in getting them to respond.
My wife was in the hospital for a knee replacement and after recovery, Brenda was her first nurse. The surgery went well, but she suffered a series of post-operative setbacks that kept her in the hospital for 10 days. All of the staff were friendly and professional, but Brenda was a level above. From the moment she met my wife, Brenda was very careful to ensure that everything was being done for her comfort and to resolve her medical issues. She went through her history and medications in detail and ensured her IV and bandages were correct and functioning properly. If something seemed amiss in my wife’s condition, Brenda was quick to alert the hospitalist and we suspect she was persistent in getting them to respond. She was the first to notice instances of a change or decline in my wife's condition. We know she had a ward full of patients to attend to, but when she was on duty, she always seemed to provide the right amount of attention to us. Always professional, responsive, and cheerful, she never gave any indication of being stressed. Of particular note, Brenda came in on her day off to check in on my wife and assure her that her medical issues were being addressed. We were impressed with that level of compassion and commitment.
