I had a postoperative patient yesterday who had an abdominal operation; then had an acute occlusion of his proximal aorta resulting in acute limb ischemia with muscle and sensory loss to the foot. Brenda was diligent in recognizing the change in the patient's clinical/vascular exam. I was notified of the patient's clinical status. We ordered a CT angiogram suggesting an acute occlusion of the patient's abdominal aorta. The patient underwent an emergent axillary fem-fem bypass yesterday evening which ultimately resulted in a revascularized left lower extremity. Thank you, Brenda.
