It is hard to put into words how to describe Brenda Sloan. She goes above and beyond the limit of what is expected from a nurse. She even went as far as to buy my son lunch one day. All he wanted was a hot dog and french fries to eat and after my efforts failed she went out of her way to go pick this meal up for him. This simple act brought so much joy and excitement to my son's face that it was overwhelming. I can honestly say that I have not seen those emotions in my son since his sickness began. There is so much more that should be said, but in doing so one would have to write a book on this amazing woman. I not only feel that she should win this award, she should get so much more.

I would also like to add that the entire Pediatric unit is remarkable and far beyond what I expected. But it was Brenda Sloan who made my sons face light up with joy and happiness, simply from taking her own time to go get him a hot dog and fries. Thank you Brenda for the gift of joy that you gave to my son and our entire family.
