Brenda has many attributes that are desirable for all nurses. First, she is a patient advocate. There are times in ICU that the patient is too critical to speak for themselves and Brenda becomes their voice. She communicates with the patient's family and attempts to find out the patient wishes. In her soft spoken, kind way, Brenda consistently promotes patient centered care.
Brenda is a team player. She willingly changes her schedule or comes in extra to cover if ICU is busy or has a call-in. She regularly checks with her co-workers throughout the shift to see if they need assistance. She always says "thank you" to someone who helps in ICU.
Brenda's many years of experience make her an excellent resources for nurses with less experience. She has this book of knowledge that she pulls out every time she works. It's comforting to know we can always go to Brenda's book for an answer. Brenda has very good critical thinking skills and notices subtle changes to her patient's condition. She communicates well with co-workers and the physicains. She is respected by both!
Brenda has a great smile! She is a very humble person who does not like praise. She would rather do for others than have soemthing done for her. The nurses of ICU appreciate her years of service, dedication and loyalty.
