Brenda Terrones, BSN, RN

Brenda was my nurse for 3 shifts. It is unusual for you to encounter a professional, empathetic, knowledgeable, compassionate nurse who also lives the vision of patient importance first. Brenda always took the time to explain the significance of a test, which is rare. All a patient wants is the why of a procedure, which she would put into layman's terms how a procedure advances the entire recovery process, and no question was too small or insignificant. 

One night, I was overwhelmed with emotions and "what if's," and Brenda gently asked if perhaps I could use some support. She connected me with the Chaplin, realizing that I needed emotional as well as physical healing. She never failed to see the entire patient. She efficiently and professionally set up the IVs, drew blood, or did whatever else was required. If another professional was present, she would patiently wait and never interrupt. She truly lives, works, and fosters AdventHealth's philosophy. 

I have truly been blessed to have her as my Advent Health caregiver and AdventHealth is blessed to have her on its nursing inpatient care team.
