Last August I was admitted to Stephens Memorial Hospital with a diagnosis of Salmonella infection; I was feeling terribly sick and as I was being wheeled to a room on the unit - a nurse bent down, took my hand and smiled at me. She told me I would be well cared for. She made sure that happened! Salmonella infection is nasty - characterized by explosive, uncontrollable diarrhea. I cannot count the number of "clean ups" Brenda did for me - always a smile and a positive word of encouragement. It is a very embarrassing situation for a 70-year-old woman to find herself in!!! Brenda's complete professionalism under these circumstances is something I'll never forget.
It's very hard to put into words what this woman did for me. Brenda is quiet and does not seek attention. These nurses so often get overlooked and underappreciated. I healed under her care. Brenda is a true DAISY Nurse!
