Brendan Keegan, RN I

My husband was a patient in the medical ICU, at which time my family was fortunate to encounter an exceptional RN. Brendan attended to our entire family's needs, answering our many questions and offering comfort. If he didn't have an answer, he found it out immediately. We never had to wait for anything - this nurse was on it! He treated our loved one with respect while injecting a gentle sense of light humor and adding levity to an otherwise tense situation. He even posted the football game channel on our whiteboard.

As a now-retired RN myself, I've worked with numerous nurses throughout my long career. I have never met a more compassionate and caring nurse. In the chaotic world of healthcare, it's the little touches that matter. They make a good nurse, a great nurse over and above a knowledge base. If he hasn't already received recognition, Brendan Keegan is long overdue, and RGH is blessed to have him!
