I wish that I could nominate Brendan for 17 DAISY’s. Today like every single day in this massage Covid surge, our unit was severely understaffed. Brendan had 6 patients of his own (which is a very heavy load), almost unmanageable. I personally only had 5 patients but 3 out of the 5 were extremely sick/hemorrhaging. I was beyond stressed for the entire day. Brendan with his own patient load, helped me the entire day with zero questions asked. He hung meds, made phone calls, and charted things for me. I’m writing this note not as a patient but as an extremely overworked, overtired nurse whose outlook on the day changed because of his help. I am also writing this on behalf of my 5 patients because, by his constantly helping me, he was ultimately helping them.
