Brendy consistently goes above and beyond to deliver excellent care to our bone marrow transplant patients on a daily basis! Bendy works closely with our patients and donors to prepare them for the upcoming transplant. She considers herself a patient / donor 'transplant event planner' as she coordinates and facilitates the multitude of tests, exams and procedures required to ensure these patients are prepared well in advance and have a great 'patient experience'. I've never met anyone as compassionate as Brendy is about her patients and donors. She goes over every specific detail with the patient, donor and family to ensure they have a full understanding of the transplant process. Brendy also does an outstanding job at educating our patients! In addition, Brendy takes into consideration the patient's entire well-being in regards to their pycho-social, financial, insurance statuses (to name a few) and will work with the appropriate individuals to resolve any conflicts all while being respectful of the patient's current situation.

Brendy's background and expertise in bone marrow transplant lends her to be the perfect candidate to serve as one of our 'subject matter experts'. She often mentors other clinical staff as well as participates in in-services, workshops for personnel both inside and outside of the institution. Brendy is always more than willing to help out in any situation that may affect patient care, a patient outcome or overall safety of both our patients and employees.

Brendy is well deserving of the DAISY Award due to her tireless efforts in being an awesome coordinator to her patients and donors, well-respected among her peers and a very compassionate nurse that always goes the extra mile to get the job done!
