While in the ICU, I received great care from everyone but Brett was absolutely excellent! I was scared and depressed from so many setbacks with wound healing. I was so tired of fighting and wanted to just give up. Brett was so kind, gentle, and comforting. He listened and showed genuine concern. He checked on me frequently and talked and joked with me. He helped me realize I needed to fight this illness and keep my faith up. My wounds were very painful and he was so gentle and helped keep me medicated for pain prior to procedures to help ease the pain. My children were there a lot and they even said it made them feel better when he was my nurse because of the way he cares. He encouraged me to eat to help heal despite my not feeling hungry and not wanting to eat. This really did help me. He was very knowledgeable of all nursing procedures which helped me and my kids feel more at ease. I do appreciate the care he gave and I feel he went above and beyond with his care and compassion to me and my family. We will forever remember him and all he did to provide extraordinary care! Thank you, Brett. You will forever be dear to our hearts for helping us through a very rough, painful time in our lives and helping us keep the faith. You definitely are an OUTSTANDING nurse. DMH should be proud to have you on staff. You are an asset! You made a difference in our lives - thank you!
