Having a nurse for a patient can be intimidating. Having heart surgery can also be intimidating, even if you are a nurse. This was the situation Brian encountered two weeks ago when my husband was admitted to 3 North Pre-Op. Brian didn't miss a beat! He acknowledged my husband's nursing experience but also his need as a patient to understand what was going to happen to him. Brian gave clear instructions and then prayed the sweetest prayer over my husband on the morning of surgery. Because of his care, my husband was able to go to the OR with confidence and without fear!
