Nurse Brian made a terrible and awkward situation more relaxing, fun, and educational. I’m a first-year nursing student, and Ben noticed that and was walking me through all of the things he struggled with and how to make them better. When removing my IV for discharge, he showed me how to remove it and why it wasn’t working efficiently when the prior nurse had put it. He was transparent, honest, and educational about why things happen and how we can fix them. I honestly learned more about ED nursing from Brian in two hours than I’ve learned in my clinicals.

He also printed out my blood work, walked me through each level, and taught me how to interpret it for my future patients one day. Brian is, by far, the best nurse I’ve ever had. I’ve been struggling with nursing school and worried I wouldn’t be great at it, but Brian absolutely brought back that spark and made me excited to go back after I heal up a bit. Nurses like Brian are the absolute definition of a DAISY Award.
